Rumah Malaysia, Muscat - 27th January 2014
Perwakilan Muscat held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today to kick off the opening of year 2014. The meeting which was attended by 29 members went smooth with the new resolutions, ideas and proposed activities.
The Chairlady of Perwakilan Muscat, Ybhg. Prof. Madya Datin Dr Musrifah Sapardi gave the opening speech to welcome and thanked all members and bureaus for their endless efforts and contributions thru out the year of 2013. The year of 2013 were filled up with all kinds of events and activities like charities, classes, talks, visits, sports and not to forget farewells for members and festival celebrations.
The Perwakilan Muscat did not only manage to attract the attention from the other Perwakilans all over the world but also the Oman's AWG (Ambassador's Wives Group). Members of AWG were amazed on how well activities were carried out and led by our Chairlady. When she was asked how did she manage to handle all of this, she nonchalantly replied "As a leader we sometimes have to go down to be the same level as others." On that note, we could not agree more than the fact that she is not just the inspiration to all the members but also the most humble person that we have ever had.
The AGM was officially officiated by His Excellency TYT Dato Rustam Yahya, the Malaysian Ambassador to Sultanate Of Oman followed by his motivated speech to all members. In his speech, Dato highlighted the importance of unity, regardless of who we are. Malaysia has always been the favourite destination for Omanis. They always have high regards and look up on us. Dato ended his speech with a note that no matter what race and religion we are, we have to unite and stand together as Malaysians.
The meeting continued with the review of activities and financial report for year 2013. Perwakilan Muscat also has lined up few exciting planned events for the first half of 2014. Perwakilan Muscat thanked all the members who attended the meeting. We hope that the year of 2014 will give all of us more happiness and prosperity.
